Extension for Durian Quality Production in According with Good Agricultural Practices of Farmer in Thung song District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) basic personal, social, and economic conditions of farmers 2) practices according to Good Agricultural Practices in durian production of farmers 3) knowledge, knowledge resources, and durian production conditions according to Good Agricultural Practices of farmers 4) the opinions and needs in the extension of durian production according to Good Agricultural Practices of farmers 5) problems and suggestions regarding the extension of durian production according to Good Agricultural Practices of farmers 6) factors impacting durian production according to Good Agricultural Practices of farmers.The research was done by survey method. The population of this research was 788 durian production farmers in Thung Song district, Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The sample size of 206 people was determined by using Taro Yamane formula with the error value of 0.06 and simple random sampling method. Data were collected by conducting interview. Statistics applied in the data analysis were such as frequency, percentage, minimum value, maximum value, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the research found that 1) farmers had the average age of 47.57 years old. Most of them completed higher secondary education or equivalent. The average labor in the household was 2.30 people, the average income from durian selling was 427,195.63 Baht/year, the average experience in durian farming was 7.34 years, the price of durian per kilogram in the past year was 107.38 Baht, and the expense in durian production was 15,760.10 Baht per Rai. 2) Farmers practiced according to Good Agricultural Practices at 61.7% with the level of practice at the highest level with the planting area. 3) Farmers had knowledge at the high level especially the knowledge about the practice according to Good Agricultural Practices which was at the highest level. For the accessibility of knowledge by farmers on quality durian production, it was at the low level. The knowledge resource which got access more than other resources was group media. 4) Farmers expressed their opinions toward quality durian production according to Good Agricultural Practices that it provided them with the higher selling price of the products with the high level of agreement. They needed the knowledge aspect at the high level. 5) Problems in quality durian production was that the chemicals applied for pest management was expensive. Second to that was the low and fluctuated price of the product. Suggestion included that there should be a continuous knowledge training on the process of quality durian production to farmers in the area. 6) Factors affecting the practice according to Good Agricultural Practices of farmers at positively at statistically significant level of 0.01 were such as age, needs in the extension of quality durian production negatively at statistically significant level of 0.01 were such as knowledge resource on quality durian production and negatively at statistically significant level of 0.05 were such as durian price from the previous year.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อศึกษา 1) สภาพพื้นฐานส่วนบุคคล สภาพทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจของเกษตรกร 2) การปฏิบัติตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีในการผลิตทุเรียนของเกษตรกร 3) ความรู้ แหล่งความรู้และสภาพการผลิตทุเรียนตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร 4) ความคิดเห็นและความต้องการในการส่งเสริมการผลิตทุเรียนตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร 5) ปัญหาและข้อเสนอแนะในการส่งเสริมการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร 6) ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการผลิตทุเรียนตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร การวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยแบบสำรวจ ประชากรที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ เกษตรกรผู้ปลูกทุเรียนที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเกษตรกรในอำเภอทุ่งสง จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช จำนวน 788 ราย กลุ่มตัวอย่างคำนวณโดยการใช้สูตรของทาโร ยามาเน ความคลาดเคลื่อนที่ 0.06 ได้จำนวน 206 ราย สุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย เก็บข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าต่ำสุด ค่าสูงสุด ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยพหุคูณผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) เกษตรกรมีอายุเฉลี่ย 47.57 ปี ส่วนใหญ่จบการศึกษาระดับมัธยมศึกษาตอนปลายหรือเทียบเท่า จำนวนแรงงานในครัวเรือนเฉลี่ย 2.30 คน รายได้จากการจำหน่ายทุเรียนเฉลี่ย 427,195.63 บาทต่อปี มีประสบการณ์ในการทำสวนทุเรียนเฉลี่ย 7.34 ปี ราคาทุเรียนในปีที่ผ่านมากิโลกรัมละ 107.38 บาท ค่าใช้จ่ายในการผลิตทุเรียน 15,760.10 บาทต่อไร่ 2) เกษตรกรมีการปฏิบัติตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีร้อยละ 61.7 โดยอยู่ในระดับปฏิบัติมากที่สุดในด้านพื้นที่ปลูก 3) เกษตรกรมีความรู้ในระดับมาก โดยมีความรู้มากที่สุดในประเด็นการปฏิบัติตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี ในด้านเกษตรกรเข้าถึงแหล่งความรู้เรื่องการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพในระดับน้อย โดยเข้าถึงแหล่งความรู้ที่มากกว่าแหล่งอื่นๆคือสื่อกลุ่ม 4) เกษตรกรมีความคิดเห็นต่อการการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีทำให้จำหน่ายผลผลิตได้ราคาดีขึ้นโดยเห็นด้วยในระดับมาก เกษตรกรมีความต้องการการส่งเสริมการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพในระดับมาก โดยมีความต้องการมากในประเด็นความรู้ 5) ปัญหาในการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพคือ สารเคมีที่ใช้ในการป้องกันกำจัดศัตรูพืชมีราคาแพง รองลงมาคือราคาผลผลิตตกต่ำและไม่แน่นอน ข้อเสนอแนะคือ การอบรมให้ความรู้ด้านกระบวนการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพแก่เกษตรกรในพื้นที่อย่างต่อเนื่อง 6) ปัจจัยที่มีต่อการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีมีผลเชิงบวกที่นัยสำคัญยิ่งที่ระดับ 0.01 ได้แก่ อายุ ความต้องการในการส่งเสริมการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพ มีผลเชิงลบที่นัยสำคัญยิ่งที่ระดับ 0.01 ได้แก่ แหล่งความรู้เกี่ยวกับการผลิตทุเรียนคุณภาพ มีผลเชิงลบที่นัยสำคัญที่ระดับ 0.05 ได้แก่ ราคาทุเรียนในปีที่ผ่านมา
