Extension Needs According to Guidelines for Increasing of Cassava Productivity by Farmers in Thung Saliam District, Sukhothai Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study (1) basic general conditions, social conditions, and economic conditions of farmers (2) cassava production conditions of farmers (3) knowledge and practice regarding the increase in cassava productivity of farmers (4) extension needs according to guidelines for increasing of cassava productivity of farmers (5) problems in the extension of cassava production of farmers.The research was done by survey method. The population of this study was 1,097 cassava production farmers in the area of Thung Saliam district, Sukhothai province who had registered as farmers with Thung Saliam district office of agriculture in 2022. The sample size of 173 people was determined by using Taro Yamane formula with the error value of 0.07 and simple random sampling method. Data were collected by conducting interview. Statistics applied in data analysis were such as frequency, percentage, mean, minimum value, maximum value, and standard deviation.The results of the research found that (1) farmers had the average cost of production of 4,124.62 Baht/Rai and had the average cassava productivity received of 2.55 ton/Rai. Most farmers are members of agricultural groups/institutions. (2) most of the farmers had weed and pest controls by using chemicals. (3) farmers had knowledge, overall, at the high level and practiced, overall, at the highest level. (4) farmers needed the extension on the increase of cassava productivity regarding knowledge in the increase of cassava productivity, overall, at the high level. The first in the rank was cassava production technology. (5) farmers faced with the problems in the extension of cassava production regarding knowledge on the increase of cassava productivity, overall, were at the high level such as the maintenance, disease and pest controls, and harvesting technology.

การวิจัยเรื่องนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา (1) สภาพพื้นฐานทั่วไป สภาพทางสังคมและสภาพทางเศรษฐกิจของเกษตรกร (2) สภาพการผลิตมันสำปะหลังของเกษตรกร (3) ความรู้และการปฏิบัติเกี่ยวกับการเพิ่มผลผลิตมันสำปะหลังของเกษตรกร (4) ความต้องการการส่งเสริมตามแนวทางการเพิ่มผลผลิตมันสำปะหลังของเกษตรกร และ (5) ปัญหาในการส่งเสริมการผลิตมันสำปะหลังของเกษตรกรการวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยแบบสำรวจ ประชากรที่ศึกษา คือ เกษตรกรที่มีพื้นที่ปลูกมันสำปะหลังในอำเภอทุ่งเสลี่ยม จังหวัดสุโขทัย ที่ขึ้นทะเบียนเกษตรกรกับ สำนักงานเกษตรอำเภอทุ่งเสลี่ยม ปี พ.ศ. 2565 จำนวน 1,097 ราย กำหนดขนาดตัวอย่างโดยใช้สูตรของ ทาโร ยามาเน่ ที่ความคลาดเคลื่อน 0.07 ได้ขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่าง 173 ราย สุ่มตัวอย่างแบบบังเอิญ เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลโดยการสัมภาษณ์ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าต่ำสุด ค่าสูงสุด และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานผลการวิจัย พบว่า (1) เกษตรกร มีจำนวนต้นทุนการผลิตเฉลี่ย 4,124.62 บาท/ไร่ มีผลผลิต มันสำปะหลังที่ได้รับเฉลี่ย 2.55 ตัน/ไร่ เกษตรกรส่วนใหญ่ เป็นสมาชิกกลุ่ม/สถาบันเกษตรกร (2) เกษตรกรมีการป้องกันกำจัดวัชพืช และแมลงศัตรูพืช โดยใช้สารเคมี (3) เกษตรกรมีความรู้ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก และเกษตรกรมีการปฏิบัติในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด(4) เกษตรกรมีความต้องการการส่งเสริมตามแนวทาง การเพิ่มผลผลิตมันสำปะหลัง ด้านเนื้อหาความรู้ในการเพิ่มผลผลิตมันสำปะหลังในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยเฉพาะเรื่องของเทคโนโลยีการปลูกมันสำปะหลังเป็นเรื่องที่เกษตรกรต้องการการส่งเสริมในระดับมาก (5) เกษตรกรมีปัญหาในการส่งเสริมการผลิตมันสำปะหลังภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง ได้แก่ การดูแลรักษา การป้องกันกำจัดโรคและแมลง และเทคโนโลยีการเก็บเกี่ยว
