The Effectiveness of Capacities Building Program for Bangkok Health Volunteers for Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever Prevention by using a BHV Online Application in Ratchathewi district, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration

Abstract

This study used a quasi-experimental approach aiming to (1) compare theaverage knowledge scores of Bangkok Health Volunteers (BHVs) in denguehemorrhagic fever (DHF) prevention before and after implementing the capacitybuilding program, (2) compare the average skill scores of BHVs in utilizing theBHV Online application and their proficiency in using it for DHF preventionbefore and after implementing the capacity building program, and (3) investigatethe BHVs’ satisfaction levels in using the BHV Online application for DHFprevention.The study used the capacity building program for BHVs to provideknowledge about DHF and its prevention through the BHV Online applicationamong BHVs in Bangkok’s Ratchathewi district. Forty BHVs selected usingsimple random sampling participated in theprogram. Participants underwent pre-and post-tests regarding the capacity building program and their satisfaction levelsthat were tested for content validity by three experts. The content validity indexwas equal to 1. การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนความรู้ของ อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขในการป้องกันโรคไข้เลือดออกก่อนและหลังเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมพัฒนาศักยภาพ 2) เปรียบเทียบค่าเฉลี่ยคะแนนทักษะของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขในการใช้แอปพลิเคชันและทักษะในการใช้แอปพลิเคชัน อสส. ออนไลน์ในการป้องกันโรคไข้เลือดออกก่อนและหลังเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมพัฒนาศักยภาพ และ 3) ศึกษาความพึงพอใจในการใช้แอปพลิเคชัน อสส. ออนไลน์ ในการป้องกันโรคไข้เลือดออกการศึกษาครั้งนี้เป็นการศึกษาแบบกึ่งทดลองใช้โปรแกรมพัฒนาศักยภาพของอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุข โดยให้ความรู้เรื่องโรคไข้เลือดออกและการป้องกันผ่านแอปพลิเคชัน อสส. ออนไลน์ ในกลุ่มอาสาสมัครสาธารณสุขเขตราชเทวี กรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวน 40 คน โดยสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย ประเมินแบบทดสอบก่อน-หลังเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมพัฒนาศักยภาพและแบบประเมินความพึงพอใจ ซึ่งผ่านการตรวจสอบความตรงเชิงเนื้อหาจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญ 3 ท่าน ด้วยวิธีการหาดัชนีความสอดคล้องของข้อคำถามซึ่งพบว่ามีค่าเท่ากับ 1 วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และสถิติทดสอบค่าเฉลี่ยของประชากร 2 กลุ่มที่มีความสัมพันธ์กันผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) หลังเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมพัฒนาศักยภาพ อาสาสมัครสาธารณสุข มีความรู้เรื่องโรคไข้เลือดออกสูงกว่าก่อนเข้าร่วมโปรแกรมพัฒนาศักยภาพ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติ (p-value
