The Construction of Supplementary Reading Entitled “Mueang Pathum Storytelling” for Grade 9 Students at Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali School in Pathum Thani

Abstract

The purposes of this research were (1) to construct a supplementary reading entitled “Mueang Pathum Storytelling” for grade 9 students at Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali School in Pathum Thani province; and (2) to verify quality of the constructed supplementary reading. The research informants consisted of three experts and 10 grade 9 students. The employed research instruments were (1) a supplementary reading entitled “Mueang Pathum Storytelling”; (2) a supplementary reading quality evaluation form for the experts, which was a 5-level rating scale; and (3) an assessment form on students’ opinions toward the supplementary reading, which was a 5-level rating scale questionnaire. Statistics employed for data analysis were the mean and standard deviation.The research results showed that (1) the constructed supplementary reading entitled “Mueang Pathum Storytelling” for grade 9 students at Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali School in Pathum Thani province was a poem document that had the contents of six following stories: First Story: Motto of Pathum Thani Province; Second Story: Background of Pathum Thani Province; Third Story: Religious Places in Pathum Thani; Fourth Story: Eating “Khao Chae”; Fifth Story: Sam Khok Water Jar; and Sixth Story: Learning Resources in Pathum Thani Province; each chapter had illustrations, glossary and end-of-chapter activities; and (2) regarding results of quality verification of the constructed supplementary reading by the experts, it was found that the experts had opinions that the overall quality of the supplementary reading was appropriate at the highest level, and the students also had opinions that the overall quality of the supplementary reading was appropriate at the highest level.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ (1) สร้างหนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่านเรื่อง “เล่าเรื่องเมืองปทุม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 โรงเรียนวรราชาทินัดดามาตุวิทยา จังหวัดปทุมธานี และ (2) ตรวจสอบคุณภาพของหนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่านที่สร้างขึ้น ผู้ให้ข้อมูลคือผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ 3 คน และนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 จำนวน 10 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ คือ (1) หนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่านเรื่อง เล่าเรื่องเมืองปทุม (2) แบบประเมินคุณภาพหนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่านสำหรับผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิ เป็นแบบมาตรประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ และ (3) แบบประเมินความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนต่อหนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่าน เป็นแบบสอบถามแบบมาตรประมาณค่า 5 ระดับ สถิติที่ใช้ในการศึกษา ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานผลการวิจัยปรากฏว่า (1) หนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่านเรื่อง “เล่าเรื่องเมืองปทุม” สำหรับนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 โรงเรียนวรราชาทินัดดามาตุวิทยา จังหวัดปทุมธานีที่สร้างขึ้น เป็นสารคดีประเภทกลอนสุภาพ ประกอบด้วยเนื้อหาจำนวน 6 เรื่อง ได้แก่ เรื่องที่ 1 คําขวัญจังหวัดปทุมธานี เรื่องที่ 2 ที่มา...ปทุมธานี เรื่องที่ 3 ศาสนสถานคู่บ้านเมือง เรื่องที่ 4 กินข้าวแช่ เรื่องที่ 5 ตุ่มสามโคก และเรื่องที่ 6 แหล่งเรียนรู้จังหวัดปทุมธานี โดยมีภาพประกอบคำอธิบาย คำอธิบายศัพท์ กิจกรรม ท้ายเล่ม และ (2) ผลการตรวจสอบคุณภาพหนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่านโดยผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิในภาพรวม มีคุณภาพเหมาะสมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด และความคิดเห็นของนักเรียนต่อหนังสือส่งเสริมการอ่านในภาพรวมมีคุณภาพเหมาะสมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด
