The Effects of Problem - Based Learning in the Topic of Economic lssues in Local Community on Critical Thinking Ability of Grade 11 Students at Datdaruni School, Chachoengsao Province

Abstract

This study aimed to compare the critical thinking ability before and after using the problem - based learning in the Topic of Economic lssues in Local Community of Grade 11 students at Datdaruni School, Chachoengsao Province. The research samples consisted of 40 students studying in the first semester of academic year 2024 in an intact classroom obtained by cluster random sampling. The research instruments were 1) three lesson plans aligning with the problem - based learning for 10 hours; and 2) the critical thinking ability test with the reliability coefficient of 0.73. The statistics employed for data analysis were the mean, standard deviation, and t-test.The study revealed that the average scores of the pretest and posttest were 13.49 and 24.24 respectively. It was found that the critical thinking ability of grade 11 students after learning by using the problem - based learning was higher than the pre-learning counterpart with statistical significance at the .05 level.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเปรียบเทียบความสามารถการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ ก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียน เรื่อง ปัญหาเศรษฐกิจในชุมชน ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ภาคเรียนที่ 1 ปีการศึกษา 2567 โรงเรียนดัดดรุณี จังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา จำนวน 1 ห้องเรียน นักเรียน 40 คน ได้มาโดยการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม เครื่องมือที่ใช้วิจัย ได้แก่ 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน จำนวน 3 แผน รวม 10 ชั่วโมง และ 2) แบบวัดความสามารถการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณที่มีค่าความเชื่อมั่นเท่ากับ 0.73 สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการทดสอบค่าที ผลการวิจัยปรากฏว่า ความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณ เรื่อง ปัญหาเศรษฐกิจในชุมชน ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่5 ที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้ปัญหาเป็นฐาน มีคะแนนเฉลี่ยก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียนเท่ากับ 13.49 และ 24.24 ตามลำดับ โดยนักเรียนมีความสามารถในการคิดอย่างมีวิจารณญาณหลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียนอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
