Extension of Pomelo Production According to Good Agricultural Practices standard for Farmers in Si Mahosot District, Prachin Buri Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) the social and economic conditions 2) the pomelo production conditions, 3) the knowledge of pomelo production in accordance with Good Agricultural Practices standard 4) the problems and suggestions regarding the extension of pomelo production in accordance with Good Agricultural Practices standard. And 5) the extension needs for pomelo production in accordance with Good Agricultural Practices standard of farmers.The research was done by survey method. The population consisted of pomelo farmers who registered with the Department of Agricultural Extension of 2022 in Si Mahosot District, Prachinburi Province. Total 128 farmers were interviewed as part of the research and data was collected from the entire population. Data was analyzed with frequency distribution, percentage, minimum, maximum, mean, standard deviation, and ranking.The results indicate the following: 1) Most farmers were male, with an average age of 57.49 years, and graduated from primary school.The average experience in growing pomelo was 8.46 years. The average pomelo growing area was 3.07 rai. The average number of workers in the household was 1.27 people. The average total amount of pomelo production was 1,243.20 kilograms per rai. The average annual income from pomelo production was 27,203 baht per rai and cost of pomelo production was 8,931.56 baht. 2) Farmers grew the Thongdee variety. The source of the plants were cuttings. The average pomelo age was 13.90 years, using rainwater as the main irrigation source, and sold in bulk. 3) Knowledge of pomelo production according to Good Agricultural Practice standards of farmers had a moderate level on knowledge with pomelo production. In terms of plants variety preparation by finding the perfect cutting. 4) Problems extension of pomelo production according to Good Agricultural Practice standards was a moderate level on issues of irrigation source regarding the provision of water sources suitable for cultivation and needed the extension of groups. It suggested that the officer should recommend to the farmer about the production recording of Good Agricultural Practices recording of farmers. And 5) Extension needs of pomelo production according to Good Agricultural Practice standards were at a high level, issues in the pre-harvest processing such as the procurement of water sources for the production that must not be contaminated with chemicals and needed a personal extension method, such as the official directly went to promote the farmers.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) สภาพทางสังคมและเศรษฐกิจของเกษตรกร 2) สภาพการผลิตส้มโอ 3) ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการผลิตส้มโอตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี 4) ปัญหาแลtข้อเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมการผลิตส้มโอตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร และ 5) ความต้องการการส่งเสริมการผลิตส้มโอตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร การวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ ประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ เกษตรกรผู้ปลูกส้มโอที่ขึ้นทะเบียนจากกรมส่งเสริมการเกษตรปี 2565 ในพื้นที่อำเภอศรีมโหสถ จังหวัดปราจีนบุรี จำนวน 128 ราย โดยเก็บข้อมูลจากประชากรทั้งหมด ใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลจากค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าต่ำสุด ค่าสูงสุด ค่าเฉลี่ย ค่าเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการจัดอันดับผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) เกษตรกรส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศชาย มีอายุเฉลี่ย 57.49 ปี จบการศึกษาในระดับชั้นประถมศึกษา มีประสบการณ์ในการปลูกส้มโอเฉลี่ย 8.46 ปี มีพื้นที่ปลูกส้มโอเฉลี่ย 3.07 ไร่ มีจำนวนแรงงานในครัวเรือนเฉลี่ย 1.27 คน ปริมาณผลผลิตรวมของส้มโอ เฉลี่ย 1,243.20 กิโลกรัมต่อไร่ รายได้รวมต่อปีในการผลิตส้มโอ เฉลี่ย 27,203 บาทต่อไร่และ ต้นทุนการผลิตส้มโอ 8,931.56 บาทต่อไร่ 2) เกษตรกรปลูกส้มโอพันธุ์ทองดี แหล่งต้นพันธุ์มาจากกิ่งตอน ส้มโออายุเฉลี่ย 13.90 ปี ใช้แหล่งน้ำฝนเป็นหลัก จำหน่ายแบบเหมาสวน 3) ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการผลิตส้มโอตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกรมีความรู้ระดับปานกลางเกี่ยวกับการผลิตส้มโอด้านการเตรียมพันธุ์โดยหากิ่งพันธุ์ที่สมบูรณ์ 4) ปัญหาเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมการผลิตส้มโอตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร มีปัญหาระดับปานกลาง ประเด็นด้านแหล่งน้ำ เรื่องการจัดหาแหล่งน้ำให้เหมาะสมกับการเพาะปลูก และการส่งเสริมแบบกลุ่ม ด้านการส่งเสริมวิธีการผลิตส้มโอเรื่องการจัดหาพันธุ์ที่ดีและ ต้านทานโรค ด้านข้อเสนอแนะเจ้าหน้าที่ควรแนะนำการจดบันทึกข้อมูลในกระบวนการผลิตส้มโอในการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร และ 5) ความต้องการการส่งเสริมการผลิตส้มโอตามมาตรฐานการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกรอยู่ในระดับมาก ประเด็นกระบวนการผลิตก่อนการเก็บเกี่ยว เช่น การจัดหาแหล่งน้ำในการผลิตต้องไม่มีสารเคมีเจือปน และต้องการวิธีการส่งเสริมแบบบุคล เช่น เจ้าหน้าที่เข้าไปให้การส่งเสริมกับเกษตรกรโดยตรง
