Factor Affecting Adoption of Good Agricultural Practices on Gros Michel Banana Production by Farmers in Nong Suea District, Pathum Thani Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) Basic personal, social, and economic conditions of farmers 2) Gros Michel banana production conditions 3) knowledge regarding Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices 4) The adoption of Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices 5) Factors affecting the adoption of Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices and 6) Problems and suggestions regarding the extension on Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices in the area of Nong Suea district, Pathum Thani province. This research was survey research. The population of this study was 561 Gros Michel banana production farmers in the area of Nong Suea district, Pathum Thani province. The simple random sample size of 150 people was determined by using Taro Yamane formula with the error value of 0.07. Data were collected by using questionnaires and were analyzed by using statistics such as frequency distribution, percentage, minimum value, maximum value, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis. The results of the research found that 1) most of the farmers were male, completed primary school education, and had the average experience in Gros Michel banana production of 11.47 years. Most of them were members of collaborative farming, used to participate in the training regarding Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices, and earned the average income of 46,873.33 Baht. 2) According to Gros Michel banana production, it showed that farmers favored Gros Michel banana production in the form of ridge tillage or uplift the crop and used the water release method in between the planting ridges. 3) Farmers had knowledge about Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices at the high level. 100.0% of them had knowledge in the aspect that there was no need for the application of chemical to prevent or get rid of pest as per the instruction on the labels or reference of the Department of Agricultural Extension and received knowledge from the officer of Department of Agricultural Extension at the high level. 4) The level of adoption, overall, farmers were adopted at the highest level with the most adoption aspect on water resources: water used for banana production came from clean water sources. 5) According to the factors impacting the adoption of Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices, it showed that age and income were negatively at statistically significant level of 0.01 while the productivity and problems in banana production were positively related with the adoption of Gros Michel banana production according to Good Agricultural Practices of farmers at statistically significant level of 0.05 and 0.01 6) For problems of farmers, they overall were at the moderate level. The most problematic problem was that farmers lacked the perception through journals, magazines, posters, and pamphlets at the highest level. Regarding the suggestions, farmers needed the government to provide the cooperation on cheap factors of production.

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) สภาพพื้นฐานส่วนบุคคล สภาพทางสังคม และเศรษฐกิจของเกษตรกร 2) สภาพการผลิตกล้วยหอม 3) ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี 4) การยอมรับการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี 5) ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการยอมรับการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี และ 6) ปัญหาและข้อเสนอแนะในการส่งเสริมการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกรในพื้นที่อำเภอหนองเสือ จังหวัดปทุมธานีการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ ประชากรที่ศึกษา คือ เกษตรกรผู้ผลิตกล้วยหอมในพื้นที่อำเภอหนองเสือ จังหวัดปทุมธานี จำนวน 561 คน กำหนดกลุ่มตัวอย่างโดยใช้สูตร ทาโร ยามาเน ที่ระดับความคาดเคลื่อน 0.07 ได้กลุ่มตัวอย่างจำนวน 150 คน จากการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่าย เครื่องมือที่ใช้เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสอบถาม และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยใช้สถิติการแจกแจงความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าต่ำสุด ค่าสูงสุด ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์ถดถอยเชิงพหุคูณผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) เกษตรกรส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศชาย จบการศึกษาระดับประถมศึกษา มีประสบการณ์การปลูก กล้วยหอมเฉลี่ย 11.47 ปี ส่วนใหญ่เป็นสมาชิกกลุ่มแปลงใหญ่ และเคยเข้าร่วมการฝึกอบรมเกี่ยวกับการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี และมีรายได้เฉลี่ย 46,873.33 บาท 2) สภาพการผลิตกล้วยหอม พบว่า เกษตรกรนิยมปลูกกล้วยหอมแบบยกร่องหรือยกแปลง ใช้วิธีปล่อยน้ำตามร่องระหว่างแถวปลูก 3) เกษตรกรมีความรู้เกี่ยวกับการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี อยู่ในระดับมาก และได้รับแหล่งความรู้จากเจ้าหน้าที่กรมวิชาการเกษตรอยู่ในระดับมาก 4) ระดับการยอมรับ โดยภาพรวมเกษตรกรมีการยอมรับในระดับมากที่สุด โดยประเด็นที่มีการยอมรับในระดับสูงสุด คือ ประเด็นด้านแหล่งน้ำ : น้ำที่ใช้ในการผลิตกล้วยหอมมาจากแหล่งน้ำที่สะอาด 5) ปัจจัยที่มีผลต่อการยอมรับการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดี พบว่า อายุ และรายได้ มีความสัมพันธ์ในเชิงลบ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.01 ในขณะที่ปริมาณผลผลิต และปัญหาในการผลิตกล้วยหอม มีความสัมพันธ์ในเชิงบวกอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.05 และ 0.01 กับการยอมรับการผลิตกล้วยหอมตามการปฏิบัติทางการเกษตรที่ดีของเกษตรกร 6) สำหรับปัญหาของเกษตรกร ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง โดยประเด็นที่มีปัญหามากที่สุด คือ เกษตรกรขาดการรับรู้ผ่านทางวารสาร นิตยสาร โปสเตอร์ และแผ่นพับมากที่สุด ส่วนข้อเสนอแนะ เกษตรกรต้องการให้หน่วยงานของรัฐบาลจัดหาและประสานงานด้านปัจจัยการผลิตที่มีราคาถูก
