dc.description.abstractalternative | The purposes of this research were to study (1) the efficiency and effectiveness of Agricultural Extension Office (2) the factors influencing the efficiency and effectiveness of Agricultural Extension Office (3) the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat implicated the efficiency and effectiveness of Agricultural Extension Office and suggest the strategy development of Agricultural Extension Office. This research was a survey research. Population composed of 1 Agricultural Extension Provincial Office and 11 Agricultural Extension District Offices in Phetchabun Province, numbers of population from both types of offices totaled 130 officers, together with 114,947 farmers. Samples consisted of 98 officers and 399 farmers . Instruments used were questionnaire and interview. Statistical tools employed were frequency, percentage, mean 1 standard deviation, t-test, analysis of variance : One Way ANOVA and stepwise multiple regression . Research result revealed that (1) efficiency and effectiveness of Agricultural Extension Offices in Phetchabun Province was higher than 70% at .05 level of Significance (2) The factor had influences to the efficiency of Agricultural Extension Office in Phetchabun Province at .05 level of significance were factors of Public Sector Management Quality Award development, motivation, and Good Governance had as for the factor had influences to effectiveness of Agricultural Extension Office in Phetchabun Province at .05 level of significance were factors of Good Governance and the public service had influences on the Effectiveness of Agricultural Extension Offices in Phetchabun Province at .05 level of significance (3) strengths of the offices were enthusiasm, sincerity, honesty , and fairness of the officers in their service activities, together with the continuous following up on their services; weakness were: the unawarencss of the executives of the importance of work motivation, and lack of cohesiveness, opportunities was the willingly cooperation of the agencies involved, threat were: insufficiency of staff, task load, lack of budget, tools and equipment, lack of internal integration and unclear policy. Suggestions from the research to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Agricultural Extension Offices in Phetchabun province were: Public Sector Management Quality Award criteria should be emphasized, Good Governance principles should be included in the administration, the management should be aware of the importance of staff and show their awareness through their act in work motivation | en_US |
