| dc.description.abstract | การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา (1) ประวัติความเป็นมาและรูปแบบของเงินพดด้วง (2) ความหมายในธนบดีของพระมหากษัตริย์ (3) ความหมายของตราสัญลักษณ์บนเงินพดด้วงสมัย รัตนโกสินทร์ตอนต้น ตั้งแต่รัชกาลที่ 1 ถึงรัชกาลที่ 4 มีความเกี่ยวข้องกับธนบดีของพระมหากษัตริย์ ั วิธีการวิจัยเป็นการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ โดยการศึกษาจากเอกสารทางประวัติศาสตร์ ได้แก่ พระราชพงศาวดาร กฎหมายตราสามดวง และพระราชบัญญัติต่าง ๆ และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดย พรรณนาวิเคราะห์ ผลการวิจัย พบว่า (1) ประวัติความเป็นมาของเงินพดด้วง เงินพดด้วง เป็นเงินตราของไทย มีน้ำหนักและความบริสุทธิ์ กำหนดไว้เป็นมาตรฐาน มีตราสัญลักษณ์ของพระมหากษัตริย์แต่ละรัชกาล ประทับไว้เป็นสำคัญ จัดทำขึ้นเพื่อใช้เป็นเงินตราในระบบเศรษฐกิจตั้งแต่สมัยสุโขทัย และใช้เป็น ของที่ระลึกในงานพระราชพิธี เงินพดด้วงมีรูปแบบเป็นเงินรูปทรงกลมทำด้วยเงินบริสุทธิ์มีตรา ประทับที่ด้านบนและด้านหน้า (2) ความหมายใน “ธนบดี” ของพระมหากษัตริย์ คือ ความเป็นใหญ่ ในทรัพย์ ซึ่งพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยูหัวทรงใช้เป็นครั้งแรก ตราสัญลักษณ์ที่ใช้ตีกำกับ บนเงินพดด้วงสมัยรัชกาลที่ 1 ถึงรัชกาลที่ 4 มีความหมายเกี่ยวข้องกับ “ธนบดี” คือ 1) พระมหากษัตริย์ เป็นเจ้าของทรัพย์ โดยการได้มาด้วยความชอบธรรม 2) พระมหากษัตริย์ทรงใช้พระราชทรัพย์ใน การบริหารประเทศ และเกิดเสถียรภาพในระบบเศรษฐกิจ (3) ความหมายของตราสัญลักษณ์บน เงินพดด้วง ด้านบนเป็นรูปจักร มาจากความเชื่อในศาสนาพราหมณ์คือ เป็นอาวุธของพระนารายณ์ หมายถึงพลังอำนาจ และมาจากความเชื่อของพุทธศาสนา คือ รูปธรรมจักร หมายถึง พระธรรมจักร กปปวัตนสูตร และในสมัยรัตนโกสินทร์หมายถึงราชวงศ์จักรี ด้านหน้าของเงินพดด้วงเป็นสัญลักษณ์ ของพระมหากษัตริย์ แต่ละรัชกาลแตกต่างกัน รัชกาลที่ 1 ใช้ตราอุณาโลม มาจากความเชื่อของ ศาสนาพราหมณ์ คือ พระเนตรที่สามของพระอิศวร และมาจากความเชื่อของพุทธศาสนา คล้าย ดอกบัวและสังข์ หมายถึงความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของแผ่นดิน รัชกาลที่ 4 ใช้มงกุฎ มาจากพระนามเดิม “เจ้าฟ้ามงกุฎ” นอกจากนี้บางตราสัญลักษณ์มาจากความเชื่อในพิธีกรรมการปลูกข้าว “ตราเฉลว” ในพระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว หมายถึงการคุ้มครองให้คลาดแคล้วจากสิ่งเลวร้าย เพื่อ ความเป็นสิริมงคล รูปสัญลักษณ์บนเงินพดด้วงเป็นสิ่งที่สร้างขึ้นเพื่อเชิดชูสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ และส่งเสริมสถานภาพในองค์พระมหากษัตริย์ | th_TH |

| dc.description.abstractalternative | This research was aimed to study (1) history and type of Pod Duang money (bullet money),(2) meanings of king’s proprietor, and (3) meanings of symbols on Pod Duang money during the Early Rattanakosin Period, from the reign of King Rama I to the reign of King Rama IV and their relation with king’s owner of wealth. This research is a qualitative research, by studying historical documents such as royal chronicles, The Law of the Three Seals, and royal acts. Data analysis was done using descriptive approach. Research results and findings are as follows: First, silver Pod Duang money was a Thai currency with standard denomination valued by weight and silver content. Each Pod Duang is marked with the symbol of the reigning dynasty and the ruling king. It was used as a currency since the Sukhothai Period, and serves as souvenirs in royal ceremonies. Typologically, Pod Duang is round, made of pure silver with marks on upper part and front part. Secondly, the meaning in king’s owner of wealth is the lord of money; the meaning was first used by King Rama IV. The marks used on the coins from the reign of King Rama I to the reign of King Rama IV carry symbolic meanings relevant to “proprietor”. Three meanings of marks include 1) kings are owner of wealth acquired by legitimacy, 2) kings use royal money for the administration of the nation and economic stability, and 3) the figure of a disc on the upper part of the coin is from Hindu belief; it is a weapon of Vishnu, symbolizing power, and it might have also come from Buddhist belief that disc symbolizes the Wheel of the Law or the first Buddhist teaching, and during the Rattanakosin Period the disc symbolized the emblem of the Chakri Dynasty. The signs or marks in the front are the symbols of ruling kings of different reigns. For example, Unalom (infantry cap insignia) sign was used by King Rama I; and it derived from Hinduism--the third eye of Shiva, and it also came from Buddhist belief—lotus and conch shell which symbolize the prosperity of the nation. King Rama IV used the crown as the symbol because his name is King Mongkut (the word “mongkut” means crown). Furthermore, some symbols derived from a belief related to rice cultivation ceremony, such as the “Chalew” (a triangular woven object made of bamboo strips) that was used in the reign of King Rama III, symbolizing protector and auspiciousness.
