An Extension Guideline of Safety Vegetables Production by Farmers in Phuket Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) basic personal, social, and economic conditions of farmers 2) safety vegetable production of farmers 3) knowledge, knowledge resources, and opinion about safety vegetable production of farmers 4) needs for extension of safety vegetable production of farmers 5) analyze internal and external environment, problems, suggestions, and extension guidelines for safety vegetable production of farmers. This research was survey research. The population of this study was 240 vegetable production farmers in Phuket province from the situation survey of annual production of vegetable in 2022. The sample size was determined by 1) 150 vegetable production farmers through Taro Yamane formula with the error value of 0.05 through simple random sampling method by lotto picking 2) 10 farmers who were representatives of vegetable production farmers through focus group. Data were collected by using interview form and by topic focus group. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics, internal and external environment, and data classification. The results of the research found that 1) 52.0% of farmers were female with the average age of 53.21 years old. Most of them completed primary school education, had the average experience in safety vegetable production of 9.11 years, and 60.5% were members of farmer group. 2) Farmers prepared soil by applying organic fertilizer, bought the vegetable seeds from the shops, had the seeds grow right away, and grew seedlings, applied organic fertilizer. Most of the farmers used the hand to pull the weeds or hoe to whittle the weeds out in the crop, used water resource from the well and tap water, watered by using the rubber hose, used natural substances in pest control, managed the harvest by the appropriateness condition of vegetable, and packaged them as per the size of different containers. 3) Farmers received knowledge about safety vegetable production at the moderate level with the average correct answer of 5.16 out of 10 questions. They received the knowledge through various media, overall, at the moderate level with the highest knowledge level received from group media. Farmers agreed with safety vegetable production at the highest level. 4) Farmers needed the extension on safety vegetable production, overall, at the highest level especially regarding the extension and support from various agencies. 5) The key strength was the appropriate weather conditions for vegetable production. The weakness was insufficient productivity to meet the need of the market. The key opportunity was that Phuket is a tourism city, hence, it has the market for such products. The threat was the changing of weather. The problems in the extension of safety vegetable production, overall, at the moderate level especially on the extension of support from various agencies which was at the highest level. Suggestions in the extension of safety vegetable production of farmers, overall, were at the high level especially on the production at the highest level. The extension guidelines for safety vegetable production were such as the organization of the training and field trip to give knowledge to the farmers, the continuous support in the distribution of vegetable in community market, and the creation of additional documents about safety vegetable production for interested individuals

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) สภาพพื้นฐานส่วนบุคคล สภาพทางสังคม และสภาพทางเศรษฐกิจของเกษตรกร 2) สภาพการปลูกผักปลอดภัยของเกษตรกร 3) ความรู้ แหล่งความรู้ และความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการปลูกผักปลอดภัยของเกษตรกร 4) ความต้องการส่งเสริมการปลูกผักปลอดภัยของเกษตรกร 5) วิเคราะห์สภาพแวดล้อมภายในและภายนอก ปัญหา ข้อเสนอแนะ และแนวทางการส่งเสริมการปลูกผักปลอดภัยของเกษตรกร การวิจัยนี้เป็นวิจัยเชิงสำรวจ ประชากรที่ศึกษา คือ เกษตรกรผู้ปลูกผักในจังหวัดภูเก็ต จำนวน 240 ราย จากการสำรวจสถานการณ์การปลูกพืชผักปีเพาะปลูก พ.ศ. 2565 การกำหนดกลุ่มตัวอย่างดังนี้ 1) กำหนดขนาดเกษตรกรผู้ปลูกผักตามสูตรทาโร ยามาเนที่ความคลาดเคลื่อน 0.05 ได้ 150 ราย ทำการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบง่ายโดยวิธีจับสลาก 2) คัดเลือกเกษตรกรผู้แทนเกษตรกรผู้ปลูกผักจำนวน 10 ราย เพื่อทำการสนทนากลุ่ม เก็บข้อมูลโดยใช้แบบสัมภาษณ์และประเด็นสนทนากลุ่ม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูล โดยใช้สถิติพรรณนา และการวิเคราะห์สภาพแวดล้อมภายใน สภาพแวดล้อมภายนอก และการจัดหมวดหมู่ข้อมูลการวิจัยนี้เป็นงานวิจัยแบบสำรวจ ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) เกษตรกรร้อยละ 52.0 เป็นเพศหญิง มีอายุเฉลี่ย 53.21 ปี ส่วนใหญ่จบการศึกษาในระดับประถมศึกษา มีประสบการณ์ในการปลูกผักปลอดภัยเฉลี่ย 9.11 ปี ร้อยละ 60.5 เป็นสมาชิกกลุ่มเกษตรกร 2) เกษตรกรมีการเตรียมดินโดยมีการใส่ปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ ซื้อเมล็ดพันธุ์ผักจากร้านค้า มีการนำเมล็ดพันธุ์ไปปลูกเลย มีการเพาะกล้าพันธุ์ มีการใส่ปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ เกษตรกรส่วนใหญ่ใช้มือถอนหรือจอบถากวัชพืชในแปลงปลูก มีการใช้แหล่งน้ำจากบ่อน้ำ และน้ำประปา มีการให้น้ำด้วยการใช้สายยาง ใช้สารธรรมชาติในการกำจัดศัตรูพืช การจัดการเก็บเกี่ยวโดยการดูสภาพความเหมาะสมของผัก และบรรจุลงในภาชนะตามขนาดที่กำหนด 3) เกษตรกรได้รับความรู้เกี่ยวกับการปลูกผักปลอดภัยระดับปานกลาง โดยตอบถูกต้องเฉลี่ย 5.16 ข้อ จาก 10 ข้อ การได้รับความรู้ผ่านสื่อต่างๆ โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง และเกษตรกรได้รับจากสื่อกลุ่มมากที่สุด เกษตรกรมีความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับการปลูกผักปลอดภัยอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด 4) เกษตรกรมีความต้องการส่งเสริมการปลูกผักปลอดภัยในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด โดยเฉพาะด้านการส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนจากหน่วยงานต่างๆ 5) จุดแข็งที่สำคัญคือ มีสภาพภูมิอากาศที่เหมาะสมสำหรับการปลูกผัก จุดอ่อนคือ ผลผลิตมีไม่เพียงพอต่อความต้องการของตลาด โอกาสที่สำคัญคือ จังหวัดภูเก็ตเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยวจึงมีตลาดรองรับผลผลิต อุปสรรคคือ การเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ ปัญหาในการส่งเสริมการปลูกผักปลอดภัยในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับปานกลาง โดยเฉพาะด้านการส่งเสริมสนับสนุนจากหน่วยงานต่างๆ อยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด ข้อเสนอแนะในการส่งเสริมการปลูกผักปลอดภัยของเกษตรกร ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก โดยเฉพาะด้านการผลิตมากที่สุด แนวทางการส่งเสริมการปลูกผักปลอดภัย ได้แก่ การจัดฝึกอบรมและศึกษาดูงานให้ความรู้เกษตรกร สนับสนุนการจำหน่ายผักในตลาดในชุมชนอย่างต่อเนื่อง และจัดทำเอกสารเพิ่มเติมเกี่ยวกับการปลูกผักปลอดภัยแก่ผู้ที่สนใจ
