Media Exposure, Satisfaction and Needs of Audience Towards the Programs of the Border Patrol Police Radio Station

Abstract

This research aimed to study: 1) the listeners’ exposure behavior of the Border Patrol Police Radio Station; 2) listeners’ satisfaction with the station’s programming; and 3) listeners’ demands for programming. This research used the quantitative research method of a survey by questionnaire. The sample population was 400 listeners to the Border Patrol Police Radio Station in the provinces of Kanchanaburi, Prachuab Khiri Khan, Chaiyaphum, Yasothon, Udon Thani, Phrae, Tak, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla and Bangkok, chosen through multi-stage sampling. Data were analyzed with the descriptive statistics of frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The results showed that 1) the majority of survey respondents listened to the Border Patrol Police Radio Station programs on a radio in their place of residence. Most listened for less than 30 minutes per day, 1-2 times a week, most often during the time period 06:00-09:00. They chose to listen to only the programming that was interesting, for the purpose of obtaining news and information, especially the “Nana Sara Gab BPP” program. Most survey respondents had never participated in any station activities. 2) Overall, listeners were highly satisfied with the station. The category that received the highest average satisfaction score was program content, followed by program hosts, and type of programs, while the category that received the lowest average satisfaction score was program participation. 3) Overall, listeners had a high level of demand for the station. Considering different aspects, the highest average demand score was for transmission signal clarity, followed by good program hosts and types of programs. The lowest average demand score was for audience participation. Listener suggestions were for the station to improve its signal transmission to reach a wider area and to provide greater audio clarity.

การศึกษานี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) พฤติกรรมการเปิดรับฟังรายการของสถานีวิทยุกระจายเสียงตำรวจตระเวนชายแดน 2) ความพึงพอใจของผู้ฟังที่มีต่อสถานีวิทยุกระจายเสียงตำรวจตระเวนชายแดน และ 3) ความต้องการของผู้ฟังสถานีวิทยุกระจายเสียงตำรวจตระเวนชายแดนการวิจัยนี้เป็นการวิจัยเชิงปริมาณ ใช้แบบสอบถามเพื่อเก็บข้อมูลจากกลุ่มตัวอย่างผู้รับฟังสถานีวิทยุกระจายเสียงตำรวจตระเวนชายแดน ในพื้นที่จังหวัดกาญจนบุรี ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ชัยภูมิ ยโสธร อุดรธานี แพร่ ตาก นครศรีธรรมราช สงขลา และกรุงเทพมหานคร จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 400 คน โดยการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบหลายขั้นตอน และวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลด้วยสถิติพรรณนา ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ยและค่าส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานผลการศึกษาพบว่า 1) การเปิดรับฟังรายการของสถานีวิทยุกระจายเสียงตำรวจตระเวนชายแดนส่วนใหญ่รับฟังผ่านทางเครื่องรับวิทยุ จากที่พักอาศัยของตนเอง ใช้เวลาในการเปิดรับฟังเฉลี่ยต่อครั้งน้อยกว่า 30 นาที ในช่วงเวลา 06.00 – 09.00 น. โดยเฉลี่ย 1-2 วัน ต่อสัปดาห์ ฟังรายการเฉพาะช่วงที่น่าสนใจ เพื่อแสวงหาความรู้ข่าวสาร โดยเฉพาะจากรายการนานาสาระกับ ตชด. และไม่เคยร่วมกิจกรรมกับสถานีฯ 2) ความพึงพอใจของผู้ฟังต่อสถานีฯ ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก และด้านที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยความพึงพอใจสูงสุด คือด้านเนื้อหารายการ รองลงมาคือด้านผู้ดำเนินรายการ และด้านประเภทรายการ ส่วนด้านที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยพึงพอใจน้อยที่สุด คือการมีส่วนร่วมในรายการ 3) ความต้องการของผู้ฟังรายการที่มีต่อสถานีฯ ภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก เมื่อพิจารณาเป็นรายด้านพบว่า ด้านที่มีค่าเฉลี่ยสูงสุด คือด้านความชัดเจนของสัญญาณคลื่น รองลงมา คือด้านความต้องการด้านผู้ดำเนินรายการ และด้านประเภทรายการที่มีความต้องการ ส่วนค่าเฉลี่ยน้อยที่สุด คือด้านความต้องการการมีส่วนร่วมกับสถานีฯ ตามลำดับ และ ผู้ฟังยังได้มีข้อเสนอแนะให้สถานีฯปรับปรุงเครื่องส่งสัญญาณของสถานีฯให้สามารถส่งได้ไกล และพัฒนาคลื่นสัญญาณให้ชัดเจนมากกว่าเดิม
