The Effects of Project-based Learning Management in the Topic of Ecosystem on Scientific Problem Solving Ability and Scientific Attitude of Grade 9 Students at Trang Christian Suksa School in Trang Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) compare scientific problem solving ability of grade 9 students between the group receiving project-based learning management in the topic of ecosystem and the group receiving traditional learning management, and 2) compare scientific attitude of grade 9 students between the group receiving project-based learning management in the topic of ecosystem and the group receiving traditional learning management. The sample was 50 grade 9 students in two intact classrooms, 25 students per classroom, at Trang Christian school in Trang province, in second semester, academic year 2023, obtained by cluster random sampling and drawing lots to assign one classroom as an experimental group and one room as a control group. The research tools consisted of 1) 11 project-based learning management plans in the topic of ecosystems; 2) a scientific problem-solving ability test; and 3) a scientific attitude evaluation form. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t-test. The research results reveal that 1) the scientific problem solving ability of grade 9 students that received project-based learning management was higher than that of the group receiving traditional learning management at the .05 level of statistical significant, and 2) the scientific attitudes of grade 9 students that received project-based learning management was higher than that of the group receiving traditional learning management at the .05 level of statistical significant.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ 1) เปรียบเทียบความสามารถในการแก้ปัญหาทางวิทยาศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ระหว่างกลุ่มที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบโครงงานเป็นฐาน เรื่อง ระบบนิเวศ กับกลุ่มที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติ และ 2) เปรียบเทียบเจตคติทางวิทยาศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ระหว่างกลุ่มที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบโครงงานเป็นฐาน เรื่อง ระบบนิเวศ กับกลุ่มที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติ กลุ่มตัวอย่าง เป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 โรงเรียนตรังคริสเตียนศึกษา จังหวัดตรัง ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2566 จำนวน 2 ห้องเรียน ๆ ละ 25 คน รวม 50 คน ได้มาโดยการสุ่มแบบกลุ่ม แล้วจับฉลากให้ห้องหนึ่งเป็นกลุ่มทดลอง ห้องหนึ่งเป็นกลุ่มควบคุม เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ประกอบด้วย 1) แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้โดยใช้โครงงานเป็นฐาน เรื่อง ระบบนิเวศ จำนวน 11 แผน 2) แบบวัดความสามารถในการแก้ปัญหาทางวิทยาศาสตร์ และ 3) แบบวัดเจตคติทางวิทยาศาสตร์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการทดสอบค่าที ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1) ความสามารถในการแก้ปัญหาทางวิทยาศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 กลุ่มที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบโครงงานเป็นฐานสูงกว่ากลุ่มที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05 และ 2) เจตคติทางวิทยาศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 3 ที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบโครงงานเป็นฐานสูงกว่ากลุ่มที่ได้รับการจัดการเรียนรู้แบบปกติอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ระดับ .05
