The Needs for Developing Classroom Management of Teachers in Secondary Schools in Chumphon Province under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani Chumphon

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to study 1) the current condition and the desirable condition of classroom management of teachers in secondary schools in Chumphon province under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani Chumphon; and 2) the needs for developing classroom management of teachers in secondary schools in Chumphon province under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani Chumphon. The research sample consisted of 308 teachers in secondary schools in Chumphon province under the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Surat Thani Chumphon, obtained by proportional random sampling.The sample size was determined with the use of Krejcie and Morgan’s Sample Size Table. The employed research tool was a questionnaire on opinions toward the current condition and desirable condition of classroom management of teachers in secondary schools in Chumphon province, with reliability coefficients of .99 and .97 respectively.Statistics employed for data analysis were the frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and PNImodified. The research findings revealed that 1) the overall current condition of classroom management of the teachers in secondary schools in Chumphon province was rated at the high level; while the overall desirable condition of classroom management of the teachers was rated at the highest level; and 2) the needs for developing classroom management of the teachers in secondary schools in Chumphon province could be ranked from top to bottom as follows: that of the learning atmosphere management; that of the physical environment management; that of the setting rules and regulations together between the teachers and the students; that of the use of teaching techniques, teaching skills and instructional innovations appropriate with the characteristics of classroom and students; and that of the reinforcement, encouragement and the use of psychology.

การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษา 1) สภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ในการบริหารจัดการชั้นเรียนของครูในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดชุมพร สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาสุราษฎร์ธานี ชุมพร และ 2) ความต้องการจำเป็นในการพัฒนาการบริหารจัดการชั้นเรียนของครูในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดชุมพร สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาสุราษฎร์ธานี ชุมพร กลุ่มตัวอย่าง คือ ครูในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดชุมพร สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษาสุราษฎร์ธานี ชุมพร จำนวน 308 คน โดยกำหนดขนาดกลุ่มตัวอย่างจากสูตรการคำนวณของทาโร ยามาเน จากนั้นทำการสุ่มอย่างง่ายตามสัดส่วนจำนวนครูในแต่ละโรงเรียน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย คือ แบบสอบถามความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับสภาพปัจจุบันและสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ในการบริหารจัดการชั้นเรียนของครูในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดชุมพร มีค่าความเที่ยงเท่ากับ .99 และ .97 ตามลำดับ สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ความถี่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และดัชนีความต้องการจำเป็น ผลการวิจัย พบว่า 1) สภาพปัจจุบันในการบริหารจัดการชั้นเรียนของครูในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดชุมพรในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ส่วนสภาพที่พึงประสงค์ ในภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมากที่สุด และ 2) ความต้องการจำเป็นในการบริหารจัดการชั้นเรียนของครูในโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษา จังหวัดชุมพร เรียงลำดับจากมากไปหาน้อย ได้แก่ ด้านการจัดบรรยากาศการเรียนรู้ ด้านการจัดสิ่งแวดล้อมทางกายภาพ ด้านการสร้างกฎระเบียบร่วมกันระหว่างครูกับผู้เรียน ด้านการใช้เทคนิคและทักษะการสอน ด้านนวัตกรรมการเรียนการสอนอย่างเหมาะสมกับห้องเรียนและลักษณะผู้เรียน และด้านการเสริมแรง การให้กำลังใจ และการใช้จิตวิทยา
